The Heart of the Mountain
Setting:
A remote, ancient mountain range known as the Granite Peaks, where an old dwarven city, Karak Dorn, lies abandoned and in ruins.
Background:
Regi Stone, a sentient stone golem, was created centuries ago by the dwarven artisans of Karak Dorn to protect their most sacred relic: the Heart of the Mountain, a powerful gem said to hold the spirit of the mountain itself. When Karak Dorn fell to an ancient curse and its inhabitants perished, Regi was left alone, faithfully guarding the relic amidst the ruins.
Recently, tremors and strange lights emanating from the Granite Peaks have caught the attention of nearby settlements. Rumors suggest that someone, or something, is trying to claim the Heart of the Mountain.
Objective:
The party must venture into the ruins of Karak Dorn, uncover the source of the disturbances, and, if possible, assist Regi Stone in protecting or relocating the Heart of the Mountain.
Party Hook:
The adventurers are hired by a local noble who believes the disturbances are linked to valuable resources within the mountain. He offers a handsome reward for anyone who can secure the relic and end the disturbances.
